01 / CAPABILITIES
One instrument. Four tools.

A workshop that fits
in your pocket.

The X1 focuses seven watts of 450 nm blue light into a spot finer than a pencil tip. Dial the power, and the same instrument becomes a cutter, an engraver, a soldering tool, or a pen.

MODE 01

Cut

Clean, blade-free cuts through wood, acrylic, leather, foam and card — up to 5 mm basswood with multi-pass.

Zero blades to dull
MODE 02

Engrave

Permanent, precise marks on wood, leather, cork, anodized aluminum, stainless and more.

Metal-capable
MODE 03

Solder

A focused point of heat becomes a contactless iron — reflow joints and shrink tubing in seconds.

No tip, no contact
MODE 04

Write

Drop to 10% and use it like a pen — score, sign and sketch freehand on almost any surface.

Truly pocketable

148 mm long, Ø 20 mm — the footprint of a whiteboard marker, with the balance of a precision instrument.

Featherweight

Roughly 58 g. Steady in the hand for freehand writing, stable on a stand for repeat cuts.

Untethered

USB-C rechargeable. No wall unit, no enclosure, no air pump. The workshop goes where you go.

Ready in seconds

One button, ten steps. Arm it, set your level, and make the mark — no software required.

// PRELIMINARY SPECIFICATIONS — FINAL FIGURES CONFIRMED AT KICKSTARTER LAUNCH

Two-stage arming

A deliberate arm-then-fire sequence. The X1 never fires because a pocket pressed a button.

Motion interlock

Tilt and drop detection cuts the beam in milliseconds if the X1 leaves your control.

Eyes first

Laser safety goggles ship in every box. The X1 is a Class 4 tool — we treat it like one, and so should you.

Questions, answered

Before you ask.

Soon. The exact date goes to waitlist subscribers first — you'll have the launch link and early-bird access before the campaign is public. Joining the waitlist is free and carries no obligation.

The X1 is a Class 4 laser tool and deserves the same respect as any power tool. It's engineered accordingly: two-stage arming, motion and tilt interlocks, auto-shutoff, and laser safety goggles in every box. Used as directed — goggles on, work area clear — it's designed for safe desktop and field use by adults.

Single-pass: paper, card, felt, foam and thin balsa. Multi-pass: basswood and plywood up to ~5 mm, leather, and dark acrylic. On metals the X1 marks and engraves (anodized aluminum, stainless) rather than cutting. A full tested-materials chart ships with the campaign.

Runtime scales with power level — writing at 10% sips power, full-power cutting draws the most. The X1 recharges over USB-C. Final tested runtime figures will be published at launch.

Yes. The deepest discount we'll ever offer — up to 40% off retail — is reserved for waitlist early birds in the first hours of the campaign. It will not be repeated after launch.

That's the plan. Supported regions, shipping costs and battery transport requirements will be confirmed on the campaign page at launch.
